Mr. ESCIPION J. OLIVEIRA GOMEZ, Assistant Secretary General of the OACPS in
charge of the Economic and Structural Transformation and Trade Department, accompanied
by Mrs. Yvonne Chileshe, Trade Expert, conducted a mission from 5 to 8 October 2022 in
Yaoundé.
Meetings were held with the stakeholders involved in the programmes financed by the
OACPS especially in the cocoa, coffee, cashew nut and banana value chains as well as with
private sector stakeholders with a view to strengthening relations with the OACPS, and
reviewing the financing prospects that may be of benefit to Cameroon. These issues were
discussed during a specific working session.
In this context, Mr ESCIPION also paid courtesy and working visits to the Minister of
Agriculture and Rural Development, the Minister of SMEs, Social Economy and Handicrafts,
the Minister of External Relations and to the Head of the EU Delegation.
The mission ended with a visit to the Minerals for Development projects.
